Work space
Workspace
This workspace is where projects move from rough ideas to tangible plans. It’s set up for fast sketching, layout, and collaboration, with room to pin up references, review cuts, and refine visual details. The environment is practical, organized, and built to keep multiple jobs moving at once while staying creatively focused.
Warehouse & Props
The warehouse holds a working collection of furniture, set dressing, and custom-built pieces ready to drop into production. Shelving, rolling racks, and labeled storage keep props easy to find and adapt for new stories. This space lets us pull looks quickly, test combinations, and build out fully realized environments without starting from scratch on every project.
capabillties
ART DIRection
Art direction shapes the overall visual language of a project, from color palette and composition to typography and on-screen graphics. It ensures every frame feels cohesive and supports the story or brand. I collaborate with directors, DPs, and producers to translate ideas into clear visual guidelines for the entire team.
production design
Production design focuses on the physical world in front of the camera: sets, locations, props, and dressing. I design and oversee environments that feel authentic to the characters, period, and tone of the piece. From early sketches to final set dressing, I manage the details that make each space believable and visually striking.
Visual develptomemt
Visual development covers the exploratory phase where a project’s look and feel is discovered. I create moodboards, reference pulls, sketches, and keyframes to test ideas and align the creative team. This process builds a strong visual blueprint that keeps everyone on the same page from pre-production through final delivery.
ABOUT Eugene Reuter III
Eugene “Gene” Reuter III is a Milwaukee-based art director and visual creative whose work spans film, television, and commercial productions rooted in Wisconsin’s production community. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s film program, he combines a filmmaker’s eye with a designer’s discipline, shaping environments and visual identities that support character, story, and brand.
Over more than two decades as an art director, Reuter has led the design of sets, props, and graphic elements across narrative projects and advertising campaigns, partnering closely with directors, cinematographers, and producers to translate scripts into tangible worlds. Known on set for his calm problem solving and hands on approach, he routinely bridges creative and logistical demands balancing budget, build schedules, and location constraints while protecting the visual integrity of each project.
Deeply connected to Milwaukee’s music and indie film scenes, Reuter’s background as a musician and songwriter informs his rhythmic sense of pacing, color, and texture, giving his art direction a distinct, performance driven energy. Whether dressing a period interior, building a contemporary commercial environment, or supporting local bands and filmmakers on passion projects, he approaches each assignment as an opportunity to elevate Wisconsin stories onto a larger visual stage.
